Big / Small
The inspiration for the Big/Small Series began with a fascination of infinity as it relates to size: something can always be made bigger or smaller, infinitely.
I chose blueberries, popcorn and dried beans for subjects. I painted them almost 100 times larger, to show the detail most people never see on objects so small. Being so out of scale, they’re not identifiable at first and even appear to resemble objects you may see through a telescope or microscope.
